Since x=2, you plug it into your equation by replacing all the x with 2. You would then solve it by following the PEMDAS rule. y= 4(2) + 2(2)^2 - (2)^3 y= 4(2) +2(4) - 8 y= 8 + 8 - 8 y= 16 - 8 y= 8
