This can be seen due to historical development of agriculture. Men, being more physically adept, would often take care of the land, even during harsh sun, cold, or anything similar, while women would take care of things around the household. This was fairly common throughout history and due to this, many believe that inequality came into existence because taking care of land was seen as something that requires more skill, so people started valuing men more.
