The perimeter of rectangle: P = 2a + 2b

P = 42 in; a = 6 in; b = ?

subtitute

2 · 6 + 2b = 42
12 + 2b = 42 |subtract 12 from both sides
2b = 30 |divide both sides by 2

b = 15 (in)
