I believe the answer is: A. reduce calorie intake

Athletes usually consume a huge amount of calories to obtain enough injuries due to their intense training regimen.

During an injury, it is very likely that they would not exercise as much as they do on normal days. Because of this, it is wise to reduce their calorie intake during injury.
