Sedimentary rocks formed from broken fragments of other rocks are clastic rocks. They are made up of pieces (clasts) of pre-existing rocks. Weather processes broke down the rocks into pebble, sand and clay particles. Clastic sediments or sedimentary rocks are classified based on grain size, clast and cementing material.
