Method 1 is correct in finding the product of (x – 3)2

(x - 3)2
(x – 3) (x - 3)
x2 - 6x + 9

Method 2 is wrong since with then equation provided, we don’t square each component of the bracket directly, but we apply the common formula by substituting the values inside the bracket. Any expression that is bracketed and squared will have a variable’s power higher than 1.
