At how many points does the graph of the function y=4x^2-6x+1 intersect the x-axis?.

The graph of the parent function X^2 is a parabola, keeping this in mind you know that the graph will have two rays coming from the vertex,

I find it useful to plot points for these problems, but if you have a TI calc then it'll be easier to see the graph right away.
