A neighborhood park is circular in shape. One sector of the park needs repairing, so officials would like to block off that portion with barricades. The area of the sector is 45 yd2, and o=72. Find the length of one side of the barricades (i.e., the radius of the circle).

I will assume that 0 =72 refers to that the angle of the sectoris 72°.

If so, this sector represents 72°/360° = 1/5 of the total circle.

Then the area of the total circles is 5 * 45yd^2 = 225 yd^2

The radius is obtained from:

Area = π(r^2) = 225 yd^2

r^2 = 225 yd^2 / π = 71.62 yd^2

r = √(71.62yd^2) = 8.5 yd

Answer: 8.5 yd
