A car is timed for speed over a 1/4 mile stretch. The speed is recorded every 1/16 mile in order to calculate the average speed.

Total miles: 1/4 mile. Length of measured stretch: 1/16 mile

How many times is the speed recorded over a quarter mile?

It is recorded 4 times in a quarter mile because 16 divided by 4 equals 4.

Hope this helps.
