Sir Charles Lyell is a well known lawyer that diverted himself to the realms of Geology. His well acknowledged brainchild is the book, "Principles of Geology". In this book, he explained that valleys were formed from the gradual process of formation and that the Earth undergoe periodic changes throughout. Answer here is C.
