This can be important because it seeks to protect the organisms and ecosystem of the marine environment, reduces pollution to the marine environment, preserves a marine environment for future use, and can also maintain the aesthetics of a marine environment. These are all factors which are related to conservation and preservation of an ecosystem or environmental area which are the main purposes of Marine Protected Areas.
