the saginaw bay tides vary between 2 feet and 8 feet. the tide is at its lowest point when time (t) is 0 and completes a full cycle in 16 hours. what is the amplitude, period, and midline of a function that would model this periodic phenomenon?

I just took the test the correct answer is:
Amplitude = 3 feet; 3 period = 16 hours; midline: y = 5.

Answer:

Amplitude = 3 feet

Period = 16 hours

Midline y = 5

Explanation:

The saginaw bay tides vary between 2 feet and 8 feet that means amplitude of the wave function will be
a=(8-2)/(2)=(6)/(2)=3feet

Now midline of the function will be
y=(8+2)/(2)=5

As it has been given in the question that tide completes a full cycle in 16 hours that means period of the function formed will be 16 hours.
