In writing a short story, using a thesaurus in order to look for synonyms of descriptive words helps provide more depth and emotion to the story or part of the story as the writer portrays the meaning of the passage. The readers would know what the writer wanted to let them feel and imagine while reading. It also gives alternative words to be used rather than the simple and common ones.
