The vertex formula for the quadratic equation:
y = a ( x - h )² + k, where the vertex coordinates are ( h, k ).
y = a ( x - 3 )² + 5
6 = a( - 1 - 3 )² + 5
6 = a( -4 )² + 5
6 - 5 = 16 a
1 = 16 a
Coefficient of the squared term is:
a = 1/16
