waterweed grows near the surface of the water in lakes and ponds. it often grows in dense clumps. it has been observed that the chloroplast in this plant move around inside the cell. how might this be an advantage and a disadvantage to the plants? keep in mind the function of the chloroplast.

Advantage: By moving around inside the cell, chloroplast can reorient itself in order to expose to the maximum of the sunlight necessary for the photosynthesis.

Disadvantage: Movement around of the chloroplast inside of the cell requires energy. The cell can produce energy, but the energy is needed for other processes of the cell.
