Henry Grady supported the industrialization of the South following the South following the South's defeat in the Civil War. Grady worked to reintegrate the South into the Union following the Civil War and believed that development and industrialization would make this possible. Grady was also a strong believer in white supremacy and sought to continue white domination and oppression of African Americans in the South following the Civil War.
