A well- crafted plot should serve as a "hook on the line" to keep the readers interested. It should make the story actually make sense but not lack suspense or mystery. Flat plots are boring plots so a well- crafted plot should be exciting and should make the reader have to inference and use clues in the story to figure everything out.
