Chemical reactions can be detected by changes in some of the properties of the solution. It may be detected by the change in temperature, color and the formation of a new phase such as gas or a solid. An example is when two liquids are mixed then bubbling is observed. The bubbling shows that a gas is evolved therefore a new substance has formed and a chemical reaction has occurred.
