Placental mammals are those mammals which provides the placenta for the complete development of fetus. Bats are placental mammals which retains their embryo in it's uterus for the full term of the pregnancy, whereas Koalas and Kangaroos are marsupials. These mammals develop in the uterus initially, then transfers the underdeveloped fetus to the pouch where the development further continues.
