Kenny is planning to plant a rectangular garden that is 10 feet longer than it wide. Kenny wants to find its width if its area is 200 square feet. Write an equation that models this problem?

Let the width be x, then the length is x + 10.
Area = length x width = x(x + 10) = 200

x^(2) +10x = 200
Solving the quadratic equation, we have that
x = 10 feet
i.e. the width is 10 feet.
