The source of energy plants use to produce its own food which is to form glucose is the sunlight.

In the process of photosynthesis, "photo" which means light. Hence the sun's rays radiating on the earth's surface. The function that carries out the absorption is the chlorophyll, and chloroplast where this mecanism happens.
