a culture initially contains 200 bacteria . if the number of bacteria doubles every 2 hours , how many bacteria will be in the culture at the end of 12 hours ?

So after every 2 hours the bacteria's numbers double (or 100% is "added") so we can simplify 12 down to 6 because we only want the number after every two hours, 400+800+1600+3200+ 6400+ 12800 = 25200 total after 12 hours

The population of the bacteria that doubles every 2 hours and have 200 initial population within 12 hours is 12,800. This is computed by dividing 12 hours by 2 hours, which will give us 6. This means that the bacteria doubled six times. Thus, multiplying 200 by 2 six times, this will give us 12,800.
