The TET Offense had caught the US off guard thus resulted to bombing some cities in Vietnam during the war. Because of this, it did not only destroy their enemies but also some of their allies in South Vietnam. The Vietnam War was one of the wars that the US fought to help their allies in their battle to stop communism during the World War I

The TET offensive affected the perceptions of the Vietnam War within the United States because it took the United States by surprise and forced the hands of the Americans and use totally unorthodox methods in the war. It actually made an American bomb and used it to kill any country that was an ally of South Vietnam.
