In the cyclic light reaction, the electrons travel in cyclic manner; photosystem 1 is involved; P700 is the active reaction centre; the electrons travel back to photosystem 1; it only produces ATP; it has the absence of photolysis or water splitting; oxygen is not evolved; and its system is predominant in bacteria.
In the non-cyclic reaction, the electrons travel in non-cyclic manner; photosystem 1 and 2 is involved; P680 is the active reaction centre; NADP accepts electrons from Photosystem 1; it produces both ATP and NADPH; it has the presence of photolysis or water splitting; oxygen is evolved and is considered as a by-product; and its system is predominant in green plants.
