Adaptation, natural selection and evolution all revolve around an animal changing it's body or habits over many generations to thrive in their natural habitat, depending on the conditions and other animals present in that habitat, hope this helps

Living organisms evolve over many generations because they adapt to their habitat and the others around. Evolution also occurs when natural selection is in play.
