assume the numbers are x , y
x+y =-53
x*y =-24
from equation 1 we get y = -53-x
sub in eqn.2
x* (-53 -x ) = -24
then x^2 + 53x -24 =0
and by solving the equation and substitute we get
the two numbers are
0.449 & -53.452
