The continental drift is a theory that deals with the evolution of the forms of the lands emersas throughout the geologic eras. The theory of drift assumes that the continents were united previously in only one, denominated pangea.

Much evidence of this theory consists in the existence of similar fossils and groups of vegetation in areas separated by entire oceans.
