Mansa Musa was an emperor from Mali and had a pilgrimage to Makka and returned to bring Arab scholars and architects. They build 5 mosques in the country. Mansa Musa's pilgrimage brought wealth and prosperity which attracted more Muslim traders and scholars. They also contributed to the cultural and economic developments in Mali.
