The correct answer is B. Jomo Kenyatta, whose original name was Kamau wa Ngengiro was the first citizen of Kenya to be designed as prime minister and president after the independence of that country.

He began his political career in 1924 when he joined the Kikuyu Central Association. In 1966, border conflicts with Somalia worsened and political opposition increased.

Kenyatta turned Kikuyu's party into the only political party in Kenya, which generated discontent in the people. His security forces persecuted the dissidents and were accused of several murders of members of the opposition.
