There are four basic types of animal tissue - epithelium, connective, nervous, and muscle tissue. Epithelial cells form epithelium which covers surfaces of blood vessels and organs in the body. All glands are, as well, made of epithelial cells. Also, epithelial cells grow close together to form the body's skin.
