The balanced reaction between Zn and HCl is as follows:
Zn(s) + 2HCl(aq) -> ZnCl2(aq) + H2(g)
This means that HCl would be the limiting reactant.

Which was the limiting reactant: the zinc or the hydrochloric acid? Remember that the limiting reactant is completely consumed in a reaction and no new product is formed unless more of the limiting reactant
