If you are hanging out with friends who don't drink then you are all highly likely to go somewhere that doesn't serve alcohol. This way you are avoiding a situation where there would be alcohol. If none of you drink then you are probably going to engage in an activity that has nothing to do with alcohol at all, such as shopping or going to see a movie or going for a walk.
