The inter-molecular attraction which binds the particles together so that they form a unit is called as cohesion. Its basically a force that unites particles. For example, in a water droplet the water molecules are bind together with other molecules and together they from a drop.

Cohesion is created by polar water atoms repulsing each other. The drive of fascination that holds particles of a given substance together. It is most grounded in solids, less solid in fluids, and slightest solid in gas. It also holds the bonds together of water.
