6x^2 + 12x – 7 = 0

Use the quadratic formula:


x= (-b +/- √(b^2 -4ac) )/(2a)


\frac{-12+/- \sqrt{ 12^(2) -4(6)(-7)} }{12} = (-12+/-17.66)/(12)

x = 0.47 and x = -2.47
