First, we need to find the area of the wall. The formula we use is A=bh. For this problem, b = 16 1/5 ft and h = 8 1/3 ft. Plug the given information into the equation like so:

A= 16 (1)/(5) *8 (1)/(3) \\ A= ( (16*5)/(5)+ (1)/(5))*( (8*3)/(3)+ (1)/(3)) \\ A= ( (80)/(5)+ (1)/(5))*( (24)/(3)+ (1)/(3)) \\ A= (81)/(5)* (25)/(3) \\ A= (81*25)/(5*3) \\ A= (2025)/(15) \\ A= 135
From this, we know the area of the entire wall is 135 sq ft.

To find out how much was painted, we multiply the total area by the ratio painted:

(1)/(3)*135 \\ (135)/(3) \\ 45
45 square feet of the wall was painted blue.

Hope this helps!
