Berries is most likely the answer as Citron was the first citrus fruits to be grown by the people in the Middle East. There is also a long list or cereals, pulses (lentils, chickpea, bitter vetch etc). Berries require regular water sourcing and cold weather.   The US Agriculture websites offer great information.
