Well, the Harlem Renaissance, in essence, was a revival of African American culture. All sorts of art forms blossomed at this point. Jazz music became prevalent, poetry, novels, artwork all reflected this great time for African Americans. All of this activity centered around Harlem, New York a black suburb and culture just boomed.
