This conclusion is not warranted!
It might be true, but not necessarily. A positive correlation can imply causation (such as when the weight of strawberries collected is caused by the number of strawberries picked up by the farmer) but it can also point to another factor which causes both of those phemonena- in our case, it's the summertime which invites people to swim and buy ice cream
