America's Declaration of Independence had both a utilitarian and patriotic purpose. One is that for it to declare war on the founder of the colonies, King George, and Great Britain. It listed abuses and complaints against the King, and it was not only to merely inform the people why the colonies are trying to be independent of Great Britain. It was meant to make people dislike Great Britain and support the colonies.
