An indentured servant is someone who is working much like a slave to give back their debt through services, however they still have their "freedom" for the most part.

An indentured servant is a person who signs a contract (indenture), whether forced to do it or not, whereby he or she agrees to work for another person for a specified time, in exchange for payment of travel expenses, maintenance, clothes, or others benefits, or to meet a legal obligation such as debt bondage.
