The Greek Revolts against the Ottoman Empire led to a major conflict that helped to create an independent Greece in 1827. Following a Greek uprising against the Ottoman Empire seeking independence other European nations got involved in the fight against the Ottomans. The British, the French, and the Russians all intervened for different reasons to support Greek independence. The British and the French supported Greek Independence and the Russians simply wanted to defeat the Ottoman Empire. This conflict eventually led to the creation of an independent Greece.
