The Korean War or conflict can be compared to the Vietnam War. The basic reason behind the United States taking a active role in these wars was to stop independent nations falling under communist control. United States was totally against communism. America wanted to stop the Soviets from taking control of these nations because of the fear of other Asian nations succumbing to communism.
