Individuals with diabetes are highly succeptible to cardiovascular disease, making it the greatest threat to their health. The reason that cardiovascular diseases becomes such a huge risk is because people with diabetes also tend to have hypertension, abnormal levels of cholesterol and are likely to be obese due to lack of physical activity.
