President Wilson turned to the Senate on January 22, 1917 and appealed for peace in order to resolve the conflict in Europe, with his famous call for "peace without victory." According to his conviction, it was the only peace that could provide a lasting solution. It happened two months before America entered the war. However, he was known for his idealistic principles, this was just one of them. The reality is much different and raw.

The answer is: B.
