Two crews working toward each other are 9.45 miles apart. one crew paves 1.5 miles per day, and the other paves 1.2 mi per day. How long will it take them to meet?

Please show work my trouble is not in the solving of the problem its the figuring out how to set up the equation.

The answer is 3 1/2 days
To get the answer, you first add 1.5 to 1.2=2.7 then you divide 9.45 by 2.7(9.45/2.7)But to do that you must move the decimal of 2.7 one to the right and you do the same for 9.45 resulting in 94.5/27days
