Which explains why sultan Suleiman I of the Ottoman Empire was called “Suleiman the Magnificent?”

He was called as The Magnificent because of his greatness as a leader. He was also known as the most powerful ruler during his era, and he was even considered as charismatic and influential as well. Any ruler around the world were doing their best not to make him angry since his wrath can cause a full scale war that will favor Suleiman.
