If Earth did not rotate, what would happen to the global winds? Why?

There is this thing called "wind belts" and between them are calm areas where the air is rising or the air is falling. If the Earth did not rotate then the global winds would be in a straight line. Earth's rotation windscurve is called Coriolis effect.
