Alarm is the first stage of Hans Selye's stress model.

The first stage of Selye's stress model is alarm, where the body immediately activates its "fight-or-flight" response. The second stage of the stress model is resistance, where the body begins to give off nervous vibes, heavier breathing, and on high alert of everything. The third and last stage of the stress model is exhaustion, where the body has been stressed for so long, that it just gets tired. This could cause health problems and is even the highest cause for depression and suicide.
