A ball is dropped from a height of 10 feet and returns to a height that is one half the height from which it fell. The ball continues to bounce half the height of the previous bounce each time. How far will the ball have traveled when it hits the ground for the fourth time?

Here is how I would do it 10/2=5/2=2.5/2=1.25/2=.625 so it would have traveled .625 feet. Hope this helps.

10+5+5+2.5+2.5+1.25+1.25 = 27.5 Feet. The ball goes down 10 then up 5 and 5 back down, up 2.5 etc...
