Give three reasons that industry developed slowly in the south

One main reason is that they found cotton very profitable and depended on it because they don't want industry for the nation. The second one would be the big population that they had to sell people as slaves and also depended on this one. Lastly, the market for manufactured good were pretty small and the south that is mostly made up of slaves got no money for it.
